Probs plenty of people willing to do a swap with some cash your way...easier for you and a few quid in your pocket too...I would go that route!

Re: Anyone good with locks?
Sorry for the delay on replying..been having password issues! Ok..so what I have been trying to do is use the barrel out of my new lock with the housing from my old lock, as the chrome is slightly better. Turns out the two are not interchangeable as the new housing has an extra casting inside, which...

Re: Anyone good with locks?
20190404_074933.jpg R code I think G. Don't think there is any way the barrel could go in 180 degrees out...you can see it turning round through 180 degrees with the grub screw in the slot, then the screw gets to the open end of the slot and the barrel continues to turn and pulls out. Looks like I ...

Re: Anyone good with locks?
Thanks for the comprehensive reply G. Think I have sussed the problem - the channel that the end of the grubscrew slides along is closed at one end, but open at the other, so if you turn the key too far, the grubscrew slides out of the end of the channel and the lock can pull out. That can't be righ...

Anyone good with locks?
Hi all. I have just swapped my unlockable engine hatch lock for a lockable one on my 71 bus (yes I know it's a bay but I guess the principle will be the same). In fact, I just swapped out the centre bit and I rekeyed it to my door key at the same time. My bus is a crossover and I think the new lock ...

Re: MOT exemption
Ok..so sounds like I would have to get it mot'd.. then if it fails not use it til I get the issues fixed and then return the bus to the same garage for a retest?
Tnx.

Re: MOT exemption
Question..if I take my bus for an mot and it fails, do i have to take it back and get it re-mot'd when I fix the failure issue(s), or can I just fix it at my leisure..
Just wondered if the dvla's records would show as a fail which would need changing to a pass.
Tnx.
