Re: AWD 964/911 Bus

Once you start putting your floor in and building up your interior (bulkheads etc), you can make some space for a fuel tank by eating into the dead space behind the rear seat. One thing to consider is where your fuel filler neck is going to run, mine needs to go right where the chassis brace is... S...

Re: AWD 964/911 Bus

With a modified rear bulkhead, I've mocked up a 60L tank that sits in front of the 3.2...waiting to here if it fits!

Re: '67 RHD Walk through Resto - Porsche 3.2 Conversion

Few updates.. The engine is now running (although not fully wired into the loom), the auto electrician "just" hooked the porsche loom up to a small custom loom to ensure it all worked and work out the wiring requirements for a full custom loom. https://www.instagram.com/p/BspYW-ChWIm/?utm_source=ig_...

Re: '67 RHD Walkthrough - Devon Carrera-vette Spaceway

Exhaust was built by Turbo Thomas. It's a custom design built in his workshop - not on the bus. Was my design, but his skills to make it work based off my measurements, visio drawings and photos. Was deigned to give adjustment in multiple directions, so it could be trimmed with just a few final weld...

Re: '67 RHD Walkthrough - Devon Carrera-vette Spaceway

Now at its fourth home, after the guy that was working on it the past few years basically quit working on VWs completely! Shame it sat in my garage fur a year waiting to go back, while he "just finished another job...". Change of tack with the exhaust, 8x5s down each side with a crossover along the ...

Decisions decisions - colours for resto

As my camper's date with Spike's Vintage Restos gets closer and closer, I am second guessing my original colour choice! Good paint costs a lot of money, so need to be right! I think I have narrowed it down to three schemes (Blue/White, Green/White and Dark Grey/White); just not sure which of these t...

Re: Respray

Bridge paintwork in Southend, not a VW specialist, but they seem to know what they are doing.

Spike's vintage restorations in Maldon do classics and a fair few VWs (they are doing mine later this year), but don't know how easy they'd fit in a small job as I booked in 11 months in advance!

Re: RHD Walk thru' seat pads????

I bought some repro RHD seats (from the forum), pretty sure driver has a runner. .

Anyway, I bought RHD bucket seat pads from custom and commercial but haven't taken them out of the box yet to see how well they fit.

Re: Upgraded Fuel Tank

Part of the problem I'll have is that I've got these chassis strengtheners in the way. IMG_20180130_191524.jpg IMG_20180130_191520.jpg Bay tank may fit as they seem to be shaped so the ends aren't as tall. They've also had to trim a little around the housing for the gear box, but as the tanks have a...

Re: Upgraded Fuel Tank

Thanks for the comments, been in touch with concept about their tank and they've sent me a diagram with the cross section dimensions so I can mock up a tank in mdf and see if it fits.

I've got a 3.2L porsche engine, so a non standard tank is least of my worried when it comes to insurance!
