Rear shock loose - easy fix?

When driving the bus I noticed a loud knocking/rattle coming from the rear. Looking underneath, I could see that the top of the rear shock on the driver's side was completely loose. The blot holding it had fallen out. I'm not an experienced mechanic but happy to have a go, is this an easy fix or are...

Re: ***Symonds Yat Adventure Campout 5***

Unfortunately, I'm going to be another drop out. My son (who was coming with me) was admitted to hospital earlier today with suspected pneumonia.

Hope those that make it have a great weekend.

Chris

An issue with the hazard lights

I have recently pulled my van out of the garage to get it ready for the summer. When I put it away last year everything was working, and looking over it now in preparation for the MOT the only thing not working is the hazard lights. When I had the bus restored, I thought this would be a good safety ...

Re: Front Wheels Rubbing - Help

Thank you so much for all the advice everyone. I'm pretty sure it's rubbing on the arch lip.

I think I will try the narrow wheels on the front. What size tyre would you recommend with a 4.5x15 inch wheel?

Front Wheels Rubbing - Help

My front wheels are okay in normal driving and if I'm on my own. But with another person, I get rubbing when turning. It is particularly bad when going down hill, and at the same time braking and turning. My '66 has dropped spindles and IRS rear.I have banded 15" wheels fitted with Vredestein Sprint...

Re: 1966 RHD Walk-thru restoration with Autostyl

Thanks Monkey! The updates so far (including the photos I'm about to post) will take us upto November 2011 so the bus is further on than these pictures... But I've got a few more updates to go before I show the bus in its current state.. First, here's some pictures of trial fitting some of the parts...

Re: 1966 RHD Walk-thru restoration with Autostyl

Hi Mr Skywalker Thank you for your kind words. It's one of the reasons I decided to start a thread on my bus - to give others hope and inspiration for their projects! And apologies for the lack of updates I have been very slack on that front so I will try and remedy that his week. I would love to se...

Re: The new Creative door tops

I've got one of the first sets on my bus. It took a while to get them as there were some issues with the manufacturing process (incorrect jig) that delayed delivery. I haven't seen them yet myself, as my bus is being put back together after a full resto and repaint at Autostyl in Cornwall and I have...

Re: 1966 RHD Walk-thru restoration with Autostyl

The bus came with no front seats so we had to look at the various options available. The bus is a RHD walk-thru model so the finding original seats is not easy. There were some on here in terrible condition but the vendor wanted over £700 so I decided to look at alternatives. A few people have fitte...

Around the same time we also blasted and primed an assortment of bits and pieces.

Re: 1966 RHD Walk-thru restoration with Autostyl

Beginning of October 2011 and the underside is nearly finished. The pictures show the work to get it all primed and seam sealed. It was all blasted in order to key up the surface to provide maximum adhesion and then, after endless vacuuming and blowing sand out, it was on with the Glasurit epoxy pri...
