Re: Devon period Gaydon Melmex Crockery

Type21f - I've put that stuff to one side. I'll pm you later/tomorrow. I'm doing fine thanks. I'm enjoying classic Audi ownership for a while (type42) but I do miss the old crewcab... I'll be back one day!

1964 UK RHD 11 Window Devon Clone Uber Bus - Postponed

EDIT

My wife and all my mates think I'm a mug and I should finish it off and sell it for the right price at the right time so I'm shelving this sale for now.

It will be for sale soon though so if you want a first rate bus for next year then drop me a note and I'll mail you back when its ready.

Re: fuel economy from 2052cc with twin 44s

Jim - what sort of AFR can the engine tolerate at 70mph cruise? I've completely forgotten what mine is set to but wondered whether it needed overfuelling for cooling or acceptable ignition.

This was the setup I did on my 64 RHD.

I had to weld an arm to the base of the clutch pedal and then mck about with the radius of the arm and the diameter of the master cylinder.

Re: 130 pcd drums and 17 porsche cup alloys

I sold my 17" Cups and dropped back to 16" Cups (964 fronts all round). When I bought the van it was on a stock width bay beam lowered on adjusters. Re: regrind or thicker bearings?

Bearings are available to suit ground cranks or bored cases. If you get your measurements right then you shouldn't have a problem. Bearings are made by people like Kolbenschmidt.

Re: Oil cooler fan - blowing or sucking, what's the differen

Speak to someone like think automotive. They should be able to sell you something decent. Re the fan it's usually better for the fan to push as it's moving denser air so the mass flow through the cooler is higher.
