Well I removed the crappy empi fuel regulator out of the system, removed the electronic ignition and refitted points, set the valves, and checked the fuel filter (clean with clear petrol in it). Van started well and ran stronger, until it died again after about half an hour, this time not on tickove...

Re: Relocating the coil

Not getting over hot particularly, I've had an on going problem where the van cuts out on tickover/ low revs intermittently and won't restart until it's cooled down, changed everything in the ignition system, cleaned the carbs, checked the filter, drilled a breather hole in fuel cap, checked timing,...

Relocating the coil

Having an ongoing issue with heat and engine running problems, has anyone moved the coil outside the engine bay say onto the chassis rails in a waterproof box, or would the length of wireing be a problem?

Re: T4's n T5's

The good lady and I talked about the non split element. You won't like this but we thought the camping should be splittie only. Then I decided we were being a bit elitist. What about the people who have splits they are building. In the end we came to the conclusion that as long as the field is not ramme...

Re: steering help, I can't sort this

Hi all, the latest instalment is the MOT man is now happy with it, having initially failed it on steering play, then it being tight, he's now passed it with the play about the same as originally but without the tightness. However this doesn't solve the issue. As I'm late for work and about to head o...

boiling petrol

Took the van out for a shortish spin(an hour or so)and when I got back I could here the petrol boiling in the twin webers. Oil temp gauge was 90 degrees, started and ran fine. Having set the timeing I'm wondering if its too far advanced. I'm going to pull a plug and see what colour it is. Anyone els...

steering help, I can't sort this

In April the van failed its MOT on the amount of play in the steering, so I ordered a worm and peg NOS and bushes from the club, also the steering link pin and bushes from a supplier. Fitted them all in and got rid of a fair bit of play, enough for the MOT man to be happy about. He wasn't happy abou...

steering box bushes

I've just spent the afternoon searching for the reaming size I'll need for the bushes. I'm going to buy an adjustable reamer and a micrometer but I don't know the sizes to buy. Any one know. Thanks in advance.
