has anyone.........

..........succesfully adapted 63-67 rear back plates to fit 68 irs conversion??? just wondered, as the shoes and slaves cylinders are the same, is it just a case of making an adjustment to the center section of the back plate to fit the hub carrier??? would find out for myself but dont want to strip...

i have heard someone else mention that lap belts are illegal in this country full stop!!!!! and the MOT site dose mention that the belts for post 65 do not need to include a lap belt but a diagonal one only!!! go figure? But mine too passed with lap belts and it's a 65, but i dont belive they checke...

Had same query myself,

was told that if yer bus is classed as a comercial vehicle i.e a microbus, it dosent need them until 1967, otherwise jan 1965 is the cut of point and then only the driver and the passenger nearest the door (not the middle) required one

i have some kenwood dual mag's in mine, they do somthing clever with the magent technology allowing for a really slim speaker

had the same prob with the bugpack shiny ones, solved mine by using silicone gasket sealer on the cover side. do this off the engine, run a bead round the shoulder of the covers insert yer gasket then turn then over on a flat ssurface with a bit of weight and let them go off for a while, then fit as...

I'm kinda stuck tll the insurance make there mind up, then debate what to do? there is a chance i could mmove it down to essex as i'm from down south, walthamm abbey originaly

You can buy a push top one for 50 quid, or you can use a rear from a type 25 in the same space under the dash, dosent look too bad, sorta in keeping with the original style, and it has a electric pump built in!!

no worries bri, i think you have just got confused, the rest of the kit is out of a 68 bay, swing arms, hubs etc, because as jim said a bay box is no good for an i.r,s. as for ratios, i have an AT box wich seems to be standard one recommended, this is out of a 1600 1303s which has a higher ratio tha...

i looked this up at the weekend, as schofeld's were selling the compplete setup wiith an AM box at dubfreeze, an AM box s out of a 1300 beetle accordng to the chart i was looking at. http://www.partsemporium.co.uk/Gearbox%20codes.htm but couldnt tell you wether the ratiio is o.k. or not? cheers Sim ...
