Re: Stock Height Standard Shock Absorbers front & rear

Same part front or rear. FWIW I use the Gas filled option available from Nige at SSVC spares shop. Ride is a bit more firm than standard - which is good when towing the caravan - less pitching on undulating roads, but can be a tad too firm when running solo. Have considered trying gas at the back an...

Re: How too split the king pin system.

30 tons is my recommendation - have done hundreds of them over the years. Unfortunately not local to you , otherwise you could just pop round and I would separate them for you. You also need a bit of a jig to get the pressure in the right place.

Re: Nose Cone Bushes

They changed about 1966 Jim. The seal apparently is not retro-fittable to the earlier nose cone according to the WSM. It coincided with the improved drainage on the internal webbing - thus making the later nose cone a preferred option in my opinion. At least that's the one I have fitted.

Yep the pastel colours are 1960s. The sharper more vivid colours are later - probably early 1970s. I have oranges, reds and blues amongst my collection.

Re: Camping at Beacon Farm Whitby

Activity wise, nothing in particular is planned. Often there is a group walk down into Whitby Sat morning. Sometimes we walk to the pub in the evening - all of about 100 yards, sometimes we don't. Sometimes we BBQ sometimes we don't. Sometimes we eat in the pub, sometimes we dont't. But we always co...

Re: Reduction box Oil

.25 ltr in each reeduction box, then top up gearbox. Run it for a bit then recheck gearbox level. Job done. Use EP 80w gear oil for the UK climate.

Re: How Many Barn Doors are in the Ssvc?

We have 56 entries on the van register for vans registered in 1951,2,3,or 4. That total rises to 104 if you include 1955. Without cross referencing registration numbers and chassis numbers, I can't tell you how many of those entries are unique, but it should give you a rough idea.
