Re: Make your own fabric headliner?

I still haven't got round to this but did buy the cloth a few years back... I'll get to it one day. I'm glad to hear you had success! Dave

Re: steering lock...how does it work

Is the lock currently installed in your bus? It sounds like it might be from reading your posts. If so, is the lock (key slot) in the locked or unlocked position? As Graham says, when it is in the locked position and you take the key out, the shoot bolt comes out to lock the steering. I cannot recal...

Re: 63 RHD Devon Caravette

I love that you've taken it out for a spin in the snow [emoji2] I used to take my old 63 Devon most places, only once getting stuck whilst doing some work in a wetland. Luckily someone had fly tipped some old carpet nearby and we managed to use it under the wheels for traction [emoji2] Great snow sh...

Re: Oil leak, crank case breathing and Scat Porsche Style Fan shrouds

Here is the solution we came up with for this set up - it was easier to do it this way than to machine the stand for it to come out in the bottom front right just behind the dipstick. I'll run the line along the top of the case and out the back of the fan shroud then up to the rhs air filter: https:...

Re: RHD 1954 Samba

Wow! My initial though was leave them powder coated black but then I read on and Wow! They look mighty fine! Good choice to strip and polish! Dave

Re: Shoot bolt catches

I agree they were chrome originally so that sort of finish would be good... Maybe test the market with some chrome and some bare metal that people can paint or anodise or whatever they chose. I say go chrome as custom Devon interiors with anything other than stick don't seem to be out there... Just ...

Put a stock pulley on it..... most aftermarket ones don’t have the reverse oil scroll on them to keep the oil in....

Re: Oil leak, crank case breathing and Scat Porsche Style Fan shrouds

Breather boxes are totally useless as they almost always produce positive case pressure. Try connecting the rocker cover breathers to the air filters - you may have to fit inlet tubes to the filters. That will produce slight negative case pressure which should solve your pulley leak. That's interes...

Oil leak, crank case breathing and Scat Porsche Style Fan shrouds

The engine in my bus is a 1776, mild cam (Engle 110?) 044 heads with dual springs and from day 1 it has leaked a little oil - I think from the fan belt pulley. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/1735022.jpg I have read that this is most likely due to excessive crank case pressure so was looking...
