Re: Wiring issues

I can't do anything electrical without a multimeter. They only cost about £20 but make sure it measures continuity. With a tester wire long enough to easily reach the back of the van and a crocodile clip at each end you can easily check all your wires and switches are good, connected properly and ge...

Re: Fuel pump pushrod

Drive comes from the distributor drive shaft. Very odd that it doesn't move as the engine turns over

Re: New 1776 engine.

Basic spec is 1915 cc, Scat C25 cam, 043 heads, dual choke Weber 40s and a Vintage Speed exhaust. Compression is set a a sensible 8:1. Van is straight axled with a beetle box, flies up hills and you can still hold a conversation at 70...

Re: New 1776 engine.

I've just had a 1915 from BJs Speedshop. Very pleased with it. Jay got me to send him the clutch cover plate I was using so it could be dynamically balanced with the crank assembly. Makes for a very smooth engine. Only a few hundred miles done on it, but it pulls like a train, a really noticeable ho...

Re: Potential New Ownership

Constant breakdowns? Look after it properly and it will serve you very well. I've had mine on the road for 13 years and broken down twice, dead battery once, points gap closed the second time. The other I've had 6 years and never broken down. I would highly recommend a servo and drums instead of dis...

AGM cancelled...

I'm sure this will not come as unexpected news but unfortunately we have had to cancel this years AGM and Annual Rally. It has not been an easy decision and one we have tried very hard to avoid. There does not appear any chance of government guidelines regarding mass gatherings relaxing to the exten...

Re: AGM and Annual Rally 14-16 August 2020

This is the latest guidance from the gov.uk website covering restrictions from 4th July.. Gatherings of more than 30 people will be prohibited, apart from some limited circumstances to be set out in law. I can't find the 'limited circumstances' but I doubt our AGM will be one of them. The safety and...

Re: AGM and Annual Rally 14-16 August 2020

I'm you've probably all heard already, Stanford Hall has been cancelled. Hopefully as a much smaller event with the ability to comply with social distancing, we will still be able to go ahead. Rikki had plans for a convoy, I'd like to try something along the lines of the old BVF Rundfahrt..who remem...

More good news, it looks like I got it wrong about the toilets. Campsites can have them open. I'll be speaking with Eddy to get them booked. Thanks Steve and Rich for your help on this one.

Re: Massive anti climax

The 71 early bay is not a million miles from your split. Everything that has been fixed and set up properly on that bay can be done to your split and it will be just as good. There is an added bonus. As I was driving home this afternoon a bloke whipped his phone out to film me pulling away from the ...

AGM and Annual Rally 14-16 August 2020

First the good news, with the lifting of restrictions on campsites we are able to go ahead with the AGM at Victoria Farm in August. Those restrictions that are still in place will limit the weekend in some respects, but if you want a chilled camping weekend meeting up with old friends and making new...
