Re: 1965 wiper linkage

1965 is one year only motor and frame, PITA. Impossible to convert to 12V unless you eaither find a 12V option motor or a NOS Beetle armature 113955813E as the replacements are not the correct length.

Buttys did not do a 65 conversion, but you could try scholfields if you need a complete wiper mech

It took a long time to sort out the interior roof, it was such a mess. It was sanded back about 6 weeks ago and rust inhibitor applied. then this weekend it was sanded back to bare metal and then etch primed. My arms and shoulders ache, working upside down is dreadful. Brackets for the cab hammock w...

Re: How To - Converting Your 6V Wiper Motor Into A 12V Motor

am update regarding the 1965 wiper motor. As previously pointed out the new 12V armatures do not fit the one year only wiper motor. There is another solution. Get hold of a 1968 beetle armature part number 113 955 813E. its 12V and slips right in. I must thank Don West for sourcing one for me. He al...

Re: 1965 German Bus!

my plan is to return to the bus at the end of September. It will only be for the Saturday and Sunday but the aim is to get the interior roof back to bare metal, prep the cargo floor and then get both of those in etch primer. I will also need to take an impact screwdriver with me as I have too many s...

Re: 1965 German Bus!

Day 3 (sunday) The aim today was to get some etch on it, and we succeeded. First DA the front nose to remove rust inhibitor. Clean the old girl up and spray. Re: 1965 German Bus!

Day 2 cont'd

The steering wheel was proving difficult to remove, a handy tip coming up. just poor boiling water on it, leave for a few mins and off it comes easy peasy.

then it was time to prep the dash.
