Re: Iva advice.

They don't inspect every vehicle, so if you get selected they'll come and check it.

Re: Running Gear Options

Yes you can fit disks on standard axles, though don't believe the marketing hype that they'll magically transform the braking power.

You don't need to change the running gear to fit a mild engine upgrade, depends on what you want it to do.

Re: Cams - standard or performance?

Unless you're changing other items as well, then I see little point / could degrade the engine.

PS you don't need a mid mount for that engine.

Re: Bizarre Gear Problems

So you've had the pressure plate skimmed, which reduced the thickness, which reduces the bite pressure it can apply as you didn't have the flywheel machined to match. That explains the slippage. They need to be done as a pair to maintain the pressure. Also if there where high spots on the pressure p...

Re: HELP. Why don’t my wheels fit

I guess you must be talking about aftermarket alloys, not OG steel wheels.

Yes, there's at least three different OG drums, then repro drums are often different as well.

Re: Bizarre Gear Problems

Also, I'd replace the pressure plate. Skimmed clutches never seem to work properly / waste of time + money.

See what they're like without the weight on them. If they're going soft replace them.

Re: Bizarre Gear Problems

Whoever fitted the gearbox has put the front gearbox mount on upside down......

So the gearbox won't be sitting in the correct place by a few millimetres plus it'll be transmitting extra noise and possibly effecting alignment of the hockey stick.

Re: Engine stuttered like running out of fuel...

What's wrong with the engine that it tops out at 55 mph?

Could be coil or condenser (if fitted) or electronic module (if fitted) or simply over heating.

Re: Gear box nose cone

That's a result.

PITA to do with all the gearbox / brakes etc attached.

Think I've got that job to do, as I think the hockey stick has snapped. Thankfully its an IRS bus, so it could all slide back easier than yours as loom as all the loom / EFI connections have enough slack.

Re: Gear box nose cone

Have you managed to remove the nosecose completely, or just unbolt it and look inside?
