I’m using one of the dual aircraft certified gauges that VWJim sells http://www.vwjim.co.uk/ourshop/prod_123 ... Gauge.html

What make are they? Can’t see a makers name or brand.

Re: CSP vs Vintage Speed Exhaust

I believe M Housman has a view on VS systems....his are very good and flow really well. I already had the CSP in stock so went with that but would’ve gone with one of his. V happy with the CSP tho...

I think you’d be happy enough with the VeeWee H E’s Jim.

Re: CSP vs Vintage Speed Exhaust

Not a big engine at all....it’s a Single Port stroker. 88mm thick walled barrels and pistons and 74mm stroke crank = 1800cc. Amazing torque which is what it was built for...best bus engine I’ve ever had. Will (now) pull from 22mph in 4th gear and cruise at 80mph...on the sat nav...so genuine 80mph a...

CSP vs Vintage Speed Exhaust

Reported on here at the time when I fitted a VS exhaust system that performance was down by approx 15-20% both power and torque. Also had to turn the idle up as wouldn’t tick over. Bus used to pull from 22mph in 4th gear but with VS would only pull from 30mph. Decided to fit a CSP sidewinder system ...

Re: Busses n Bugs Imports, California GOOD/RISKY/BAD

Hey, shipped many buses, bugs and Type3’s but always dealt with individual sellers. Never had a problem...have always sourced through theSamba. Paid by bank transfer. Ask all the right question and ask for plenty of pics. Personally I’ve always found the VW community in the States to be honest. Down ...

This guy Steve specialises in cabrio hoods. Don’t know what his work is like but he’s been around for a long time. His seat trimming etc is good.

Make sure you tape up the ends properly as it will trap water nicely.
That’s one advantage with the stock wrap ala Schofields....it breaths and doesn’t trap water. It’s what I used in the end and it is excellent....imho

Re: VW Remtec 2007cc Heat Exchangers

Depends to some extent on the quality of the bog bore HE’s. I had CSP big bore HE’s fitted to a 1776 (only 31cc’s less than your engine) and it was as good as the stock heaters on the original engine. Not cheap tho.....
