When I put mine back on the road after being sorned, I went to my local post office with my insurance docs, mot cert and my log book is it the V5? And they taxed it there and then for me.

She did ask did I want 6 or 12 months, I replied hummm let me think, gave a pause for a bit and said it's free I'll take 12. She wasn't impressed.

You can take it to get MOT yes. Then just tax it online.

Sean,
Just make sure you make appointment for MOT.
Just in case you get stopped, you have proof you're going for MOT
