Just to bring thus thread back to DEVON awning rails as opposed to Dormobile roofs (ahem, I know I started that one
) I had this excellent pm from Graham with some interesting details. I hope you don't mind me posting?.... Oh well too late now:
Hi..
Home now! For today!
The mystery of awning rails deepens.. I would have said they were identical AFAIK...
My 65 Devon has a MW pop top and has a tent...so the awning rail is longer and the pop top cut to allow it to go through...
The top awning rail looks like this.. and as I purport fitted with Devon screws!

Missed a 12' caravan awning rail which went for about £12 on eBay which I now know was a similat profile but slightly sharper on the edge

The bottom rail removed from my son's 64 Devon is 157cm long.
It is fitted as low as it will go right against the drain hole shaped indents at the edge of the lower cill.
The front edge against the front wheel arch is shaped so it slopes like the wheel arch.
I would have said that the profile was exactly the same as the upper rail BUT being always in the muck and the salt I think the bottom web sharp edges hasve been corroded away!
The removed rail complete with paint and underseal looks like this!

This does look slightly different but as i say I think this rail was corroded and has been removed before for a new lower cill.
As fitted and never removed to my 65 Devon shows how OG this is rust and crud and all! See the way it is shaped..The other end is square....

Hope this helps
