Not quite sure how so many ended up down here, but they're still coming out of the woodwork (or is that barns/containers...?) so, apart from the 66 the was found on the west coast last year, recently a 60 has surfaced and a ....(wait for it)....58! I've seen pictures of both and they look genuine, and nearly complete. Makes me wonder what other gems are tucked away waiting to be discovered? Could the 58 be one of the oldest surviving Devon's? 8O :o

58 58 58 58, oldest Devon going once...... There's a few more newer models here too, i'll add some pictures when i get time (a bit snowed under at the mo - quite literally!) And 21f i'll let you know about the stove offer, assume one would slot right into this cargo door cabinet?

Here's a sneek peek at the 60...

Does that 60 happen to have the water tank in it still? Need some photos / dimensions etc if it has.

Are these in NZ? Great finds - we'd love lots of pics please.

58 is very early - is it a MK1, 2 or (here's a long shot) a MK3? The MK2 had the water tank and tap.

Looks like she's a Mk2, and someone's butchered the rear cupboards to make an interesting cargo door arrangement, (not sure what's going on there, that door wouldn't even shut like that!) however still plenty of good wood left in there... I'll try to get some more detailed pix...

I had more fun trying to guess what the other cupboard was for...I guessed it was for putting mugs with handles (or pint glasses) like on a yacht?
The front cupboard on the door is a good idea up against the water tank cupboard...If the slope sits together that would stabilise and support when travelling...

A couple more for your perusal... These two i snapped at this years nationals at Orewa, just north of Auckland. First up is a 63, i got talking to the owner and he's had to remake some of the woodwork but made a nice job of it.

Next is a 67 deluxe, don't know anything about this one...

Hi all! I am new to the forum. I was reading some of the posts and to my surprise stumbled across a pic of my 58 Devon. I have had it for about 8 months now. Unfortunatly have not had the time or money to do much work on it. I am lucky enough to know all the history about it as I purchased it from a family friend who's late father bought it new in the UK and shipped it to New Zealand. She was originally 2 tone green, they changed the colour as his wife liked red. It seems pretty original as far as I know though has a few custom bits made, yip you were right about the boat style cup holder on the door. The guy who had it was a high admiral in the british navy, hence the boat style bits :) It had been sitting in a shipping container for many years and has a bit of rust in the usual places. I will post some more detailed pics. I dont know much about VWs but am hooked already!
