:) :) :) :)

Greetings all wet kneed split owners,

For sale is, what we think to be, the best Safari Seal on the market in terms of quality and price. We have tested these on a total 5 splits and haven't had a leak, even with the full on down pours this weekend. Like any other Safari Seal on the market I can't guarantee that they won't leak as I'm sure you know Safari Windows weren't designed for UK and with past work carried out on vans frames can mean they aren't as true as they used to be. What I can say is the fit is perfect, the gripper edge has inner lips to prevent water passing through and it's size prevents buckling around the corner, one of the main areas of leaking we have found. We have now tried 7 different seals and our choice, we think, is the the most leak proof on the market, yet still compresses enough to allow the window to seat properly. Do you have to fit sealant?... I believe not as the fins would have to be practically submerged to allow water pass. I'm sure there is the exception but we have found it not to be necessary. What I'd recommend is fit them and if you feel it would help add a little. Even our 'not so concourse' (No offense- Phil ;)) test bus did not require any. Images of seals fitted the buses to follow shortly.  .

******EDIT - Now sold 200+ seals with great feedback and no returns.******

Not sure if they will fit my bus the ones butty sells wouldn't compress enough for my windows to close properly so he let me send them back would you be willing to do the same. Are you going to Action in September? Using creative ones which only leak under the seals across the bottom of the window but from my expriences they all seam to work well for a while.

Now that's the all important question....
Butty has been doing the seals for a long time and has had good success. I'm not one to rest on my laurels, so wanted to see if I could find the all elusive leak free seal. I have not experienced butty's seals.
So quality wise I can't speak for butty, but I know how high quality mine are and I'm a few quid cheaper. I'm not here to ruffle feathers, I love vw's and working with them brings me joy, if at the same time I find something that works well that others can benefit from, and I can keep my split on the road all the better. :)

yes, no problem. Not happy with them, send them back and I'll refund minus the postage. £3.50. Not going to action, our vans hired out. :)

Give me one, and Butty can send me one! I'll test them both and give honest opinion. New Safaris's coming soon.

I think I have these seals - or the ones I have certainly look similar (came with my bus) and I can honest say they do NOT leak!! One has a slight dribble if I'm tanking it into head on into rain but I can live with that.

My top tip it to always leave the safaris slightly open whenever possible to help the seal relax.

Hi Sooty,
I appreciate the offer but I'm pretty confident in the rubbers ability. You're more than welcome to buy one and if you don't like it send it back. ;)
Kind Regards,
Rory :)

Thanks Pucka, yeah we're really pleased with the way they perform. Yeah, your completely right about resting the seals when you can. Like any seal they will deform if kept permanently compressed, VWBuzzers touched on it before, they need a rest....don't we all. :)

Unfortunately, I found these too fat for my safaris, which currently _do_ leak with the Creative seals...
But with these in place I couldn't get the windows onto the latch. Can I send them back and get a refund minus postage?
I guess the gap in my windows is less than typical but still too much for the standard seals...

Simon

Hi Simon,
no problem. They are obviously larger to seal better and some tweaking is neccessary to allow fitment. Pm'd
Rory
:)

EDIT - All rectified now, our seals are ready to be shipped out first class post. £36 posted
