Cheers Jimmer :D :D
We've been pushing on most evenings this week :D :D I've got the new loom threaded through the chassis, and made up the new brake pipes today, ready for fitting tomorrow.
We had a delivery arrive this afternoon   I couldn't wait to get um together and try um on :) :) Front one went on with a bit of pushing and pulling ......

Test fitted the rear, over the tow bar, so we can finish drilling and bolting the towbar up before we fit the engine :) :)

Far nicer than looking at wires and pipes :D :D

Last summer we were away camping nearly every weekend. This year, because of the work needed on the bus, we decided to just do one weekend a month..... With the current weather as it is, we cancelled this months trip and cracked on with the rebuild,We're hoping to be up and running soon. :D :D
Most of the glass in now in, just one 1/4 light to go. Lights are all wired, wipers sorted, horn sorted.
It's getting very exciting.... Just waiting for a thrust bearing, and then the engine can go in :D :D

We can see light at the end of the tunnel :D :D

And really pleased with the side markers

Cheers Rippers :D :D

We had a momentous day yesterday....as it was the first time the bus had moved under it's own power in a few years. :D :D It was also my first drive in a splity....made more interesting as we didn't have the throttle pedal connected up at the time....so my mate's in the back with his hand on one of the carbs....

Check out the video :D :D

Image

The throttle's now connected and the back end put back together. :D
I think we're nearly ready for an MOT

It's a great feeling Mark... I'm loving it 8) 8)

 My mate ...that'll be Geoff  who's been a fantastic help with the bus.....and sorted out the new loom as well as giving us a hand with the spraying. He was keen to make sure it was all working 8) 8)
Or did you mean the bus LoL   It's the Moltswagen.... as our surname is Moult...My brother in law came up to see the progress on the Moult's wagon and it seemed to fit :) :)

The bus is now MOTed   ,
We called in to our local DVLA with all the relevant paperwork, but the jobsworth behind the counter wouldn't accept the insurance certificate as it didn't have all the chassis number on. Then told me they were going on strike in 5 minutes so wouldn't be able to sort it with the insurance company...and could we call back when we had the right insurance certificate
A couple of calls and emails later,a new tempory certificate and letter from the insurance company are in hand........hoping to be rolling for next weekend

Image

We've spent the day working on the interior....We've gone for 3.6mm oak faced ply....So far we've just given it some Danish oil, but we'll be waxing it in the fullness of time.

wood effect vinyl flooring should hold up to wet camping trips....

Crack on with the roof lining tomorrow...and maybe the rear corners....

 Cheers Mark :D :D :D :D :D Exciting times indeed :D :D :D

Whilst we were waiting for the reg docs to come through we've done a bit more, and got the headlining in.....

Starting with a bare roof...

Image

We've used Celotex insulation.....

Image

and then the oak ply...It took a bit of cussing, but I'm well pleased with how its looking

Just the rear corners to do.....That's going to be fun, making up the templates and then trying to get a good bend on the panels...

I'm hoping the number plates will turn up today :D :D
