After graduating from uni, I celebrated being free from studying by going on a 2 week trip around Devon and Cornwall in the bus with the missus.

I finished tinkering with the mechanics and installing curtains on the day we were leaving...

Well, I haven't updated this thread for a number of years, but after this weekend I guess it was time.

After the 2 week trip sleeping on loft boards the summer I qualified I knew that I wanted a camper, rather than a micro bus as it was infinatley more practical and fitted in with what I wanted to use the bus for better.

After investigating a few interior options and companies, I saw Kilgores bus and knew that it was perfect for what I wanted (cheers Kilgore)

So after speaking to matt smith at vanfest 2007 I was on the waiting list for a new interior.

Fast forward over a year and I finally have just picked the bus up this weekend.

Some build up shots

One of my best friends asked me to drive her to her wedding, which involved driving all the way to Cornwall to pick the bus up from Matt,

Sadly on the way to the wedding (with the bride in the van) the serpentine pulley belt gave up the ghost in a big way!!

Image

I had to drive the last 2 miles to the wedding without any cooling for the engine!! The bride made it (just), but the van wasn't going any further under its own steam.

Pics of the day...

Without being able to get any spares, the bus had to come home on the back of an AA truck

Managed to push it safely into the garage.....

However, I was able to take a couple of pics of the interior.

These were taken in the dark in the garage and don't do the quality of the workmanship justice!

More pics to follow....

Hi Flip,

Very nice.......

I would love to know a bit more about the interior please (as I'm restoring a LHD 23 winda, and want an early Devon interior).

Did you make it yourself ?

What about the door cards etc ?

I'm just looking around at the moment, and want to start contacting people about interiors.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Phil. :D
