Tragic news greated me on my return from my honeymoon today. One of my best mates bus has been stolen off his drive way in Essex.

Specfic details are as follows,

1966 13 window delux walk through

Reg FHJ 244D

Chassis Number 256 163 923

Sky blue and white

All glassed marked

IRS'd with re welded shock mounts

Bay front beam/suspension, small 5 stud pattern

US spec bumbers with over riders welded on

Inside every panel is red bonda primer

1914cc full flow type 1 engine with single progresseive weber carb.

Any info please call rich bond on 07733 301 812 or contact me.

He is desperate to get this bus back so please keep your eyes peeled, this sort of stuff must be stopped.

Email from Rich who's van was stolen;

Dear Friends,

Many, Many, thanks to all of you Dub Detectives out there helping me look for my 13window Split.

After Returning Home from a Romantic three nights in Brittany France, deciding no to take the bus an opt for a bit of luxury B+B ( Big mistake!!) I was woken as we pulled onto the drive by my wife saying "where's the Bus !". After throwing a number of F##ks into the now, bare driveway, and explaining afterwards the necessary use of swear words to my 10year old son, I called the Police who were helpful but not positive about the return of my beloved bus.

I called the only people I can truly rely on in a crisis... My Friends
A special thanks to Tim, Pad, Jon, Richie & Jen, Dave, Jay, Glen, Scouse, and all the VW friends out there keeping watch both here and abroad.

I've owned her for 8 years and restored her, happy holidays, shows and the coolest wedding car a groom could wish for!

I can only describe It as feeling like a member of the family has gone missing, with your help there's hope for her return. many many thanks,

Richard, Carrie and Dylan X

P.S note to self :- Before buying shiny things for your Bus Or Bug invest in a big Shiny Alarm or Tracker Device the best you can afford !!

Sadly the bus still hasn't turned up.....Rich has accepted the insurance money and is now looking for a replacement.

Any ideas circa 10K?

The bus looks as if it's worth more than £10k
