Trying to understand how these fit under the dash and how many there are on an OG bus.
I have seen that repros are sold on here but do not know where fitted!
found a thread on thesamba.com
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=151925
and an image of where the original fits etc

So now just need to ask can you fit two under the dash and who sells the repros?

Picture of one fitted please?

Seen those brackets and had a look at the pickup the other day to see how they mounted as the dash is all out and can see in there better.

I could see how the lower lip fits but I couldn't see how the top edge is secured. Maybe you have to drill and screw it in place?

The brand I saw had a single hole for about a 6" speaker. That would fill the space behind the grills, so a second speaker would have to go elsewhere. I thought maybe between the speedo pod and the fuel gauge facing down. Acoustically it wouldn't be equal but still better than visible speakers.

Or make a similar bracket with two smaller holes for smaller speakers and have them both facing the grill?

Anyone figured this out yet? I have a retrosounds speaker and bracket. I can see the bottom of the bracket is held in place by 2 screws into the holes in the bottom side of the dash. Any idea what holds the top of the bracket in place?

i believe it sits into the shape of the pressing and is then held by the screws...

Yeah the bottom on it is held in place by 2 screws, but the top of the bracket just falls down. I cannot see what supports it or holds it in place.

Any idea.......
