65 Original paint velvet green microbus with SO42 Interior.
Nearing completion is this 65 original paint rust free splitscreen microbus with period correct Westfalia camping interior.
We imported this bus a while ago and have been working on it between jobs to bring it up to nice standard whilst preserving as much originality as possible.
The bus is in its original Velvet green and blue white paint and has had a couple of areas painted in to match where we have carried out rust repair work (sills mainly). The body is very good for an unrestored bus but does have a few dents and scrapes which dont really matter as the idea is to keep as much original as possible rather than making it perfect. It was necessary to replace some items to bring up the appearance of the finished bus and as such both bumpers and overiders are new.
We have replaced the window rubbers, windscreens and side windows with new. A new headliner has been professionally made and fitted in original style. Its tight with no wrinkles or baggy bits. Inside there is a Westfalia SO42 camping interior with original mustard coloured vinyl upholstery. New vinyl flooring and wooden underfloor. Remade and replaced westfalia style wooden interior panels in the back complete the clean original look. Up front the cab seats are re padded and reupholstered in Salt and pepper material. A new Westfalia style woodslat roofrack is fitted.
Rebuilt brakes with new cylinders, hoses, shoes etc. New tyres all round. Very good clean 1500cc motor fitted. Serviced, oil changed and ready to drive.
We have a couple of jobs left to do but only small stuff that will be completed soon.
