Water tank

Here's a tricky one for Pitt spotters.
Canterbury Pitt 12 gallon water tank (hangs off the chassis behind the short sill).
I'm just about to re-fit mine after years without it.
It's galvanised so probably never painted but I think I saw a picture of one and it was painted white.
That was 25 years or so ago so my memory maybe slightly challenged!
Any ideas?

No help i know , but on my old bus mine was green to match the van

The tank on my old 65 Pitt was a light silver. It had never been painted.
