I have three of these holes on my rear (forward facing seat) of my 65 Caravette. They're equally spaced, they look original, or just old!

[Imageimg][/img]

They all run along the top of the rear seat, about 2 -3 cm from the top.

Do you know what they're for?

Are they original?

Ady

Can you pan out/ I cannot get a perspective of where this shot is showing?
This is the back header trim bead on the seat back rail in front of the leg cupboard?

They look to be points to attach the hooks of a strap or stretchy retainer maybe to retain items at the rear of the van and prevent them flying forwards?
Are there any others in or around the rear of the bus? on the drawers?

I'll take a few more pics this evening and also check around the drawers for other holes.

Here's a picture taken from a little further away:

[iImagemg][/img]

The only other holes I can find are on the sides underneath the cupboards:

This three holes under the cupboards look like they are a central hole and then "studs" have been pushed to the sides.

The mystery continues.

No idea I'm afraid - but I like the seat belt mount, I might have to copy that.

i,ve seen early bay eurovettes with these exact fitments, but above the rear drawers, so suggests it is an original Devon fitment, i'd say some kind of luggage strap fitment

very good

Hi, very sorry to drag back up an old thread.... :D

Notasprint - your rear seatbelts on that welded plate - what model seatbelts are those? - very interested as they are a long two point but obviously can fit at any angle, whereas most seatbelts have to mounted upright....

Any ideas?

Cheers TED

Hi Ted

I purchased the seat belts from VW Heritage about three years ago.

Hope this helps
