I'm more intrigued as to where it fits and why.... never seen one on a Devon before, but I admit I'm not a true Buffer yet! hahahahaha

I will post pictures of the compete item but it is on the side wall of the base of a 1962/3 Dudley cooker.
The cooker has four medium leg plates riveted onto the underside of the base so it sits inside the van on the surface on four points.
I have not tried yet but it looks for all the world like a "lift the dot" male to mate with a similar female..... possibly on a fabric tab strap.

It is, I believe a hold down tab, to secure the Cooker and stop it sliding off the open surface on a Devonette model.
I have now posted pictures of the restored cooker and from a Brochure showing the Devonette Interior. That picture is from 1964/5.
I will look out an earlier one..

My 65 Caravette has a similar male peg on the double seat and a strap and female fitting on the division to keep the 2/3 seat from tipping forwards!

The base of the fitting sits very close to but not actually quite touching the surface the cooker sits on, although it looks to overhang

Are you sure that's not just acting as a gimbal for self levelling - so it sits in a slot on the cupboard?

Its a guess?!

It seems a bit 'sharp edged' for a Lift the Dot fastener - I used to have those on my MG & Triumph soft top hoods and they didn't look quite like that peg... much softer contours.

Well that was why I asked...

I now have some lift the dot fasteners from Woolies so I will try those.

I was told it was a gimbal and the cooker was designed for use on a boat. I have not tested the Centre of gravity though..

Something else to play with..

If you think about a cooker just sat on the surface... braking might be interesting with cooker sliding across the top.

I was contemplating making a Y shaped mating part by taking a simple right angled bracket..Like the ones that mount the crockery cupboard to the cargo door.

These have one screw fitting in the short leg and two screw fittings in the long leg. I was thinking about cutting and filing one to leave the hole..

Thanks to a very nice man (wife visited her local hardware supplier) I now have a source of OG perfect brackets...

At least one each side screwed to the surface would keep it in place.

But this would be a bit sharp if you happened to fall on it..

I do know an SSVC forum member you managed to stumble and threw his arms about and broke his gas light shade on the rear cupboard!

Alcohol may have been involved..

I was hoping someone may have an example of this cooker and this fitting.. I was imagining either a loop catch to lock over or a hinge up catch but I have never seen one..

Anyone have a Devon bus with a cooker sat on the surface?
