ARGGHHH,

Just got the van back from its first MOT (in my care) and low and behold some D**K has spent thousands on paint, door's, bumpers, engine bay, and retrim then got the got the fibreglass and silicon out to 'mend' the drivers seat runner, drivers seat belt mount, cab floor, and chassis. CHEERS MATE!!!!!! just put me, or worse my better half, at mortal peril all of the time. I'd still of bought it with holes, but to take time to filler smooth and paint in serious safety places is criminal... Thank god for a good mechanic, with a good eye and a good welder. (big up Bristol Cherished cars, legend) any way were safe and we have a ticket. roll on the summer....

Oh dear sorry to hear that :(

Brace yourself for the fresh paint rusting through within a couple of years to find the same sort of repairs made to the body.

It is very common for a freshly painted classic to be bodged up and toshed over cheaply to make a handsome profit by selling to an unexperienced buyer

Similar thing happened to me. Back in the 80's when I bought my first camper, the chassis looked great but was full of newspaper and filler - found out about it when taken for MOT.
