I am sooo ...... off today!! I have had 2 old Raleigh Choppers for nearly twenty years, one is a complete original mk2 and the other is or rather was a lightly restored black prismatic mk2 that I built up for my wife back when we were courting in the early nineties...Anyway, i replied to a chopper wanted ad on vzi and was under the impression the lad and his dad wanted to buy the black bike to USE or finish the resto or whatever, but truly thought it would go to as good a home as it has had up to now...
Then the dishonest neanderthal strips it apart the very next day and lists all the individual parts on fleabay....which to me is wrong! Wrong to break up an original bike just to make a few quid...wrong to destroy something that was almost perfect..GREEDY MO FO!!!!
Really really annoys me. If these people don't have the skill to restore or look after something and only have the intention of making money they should be man enough to let any prospective seller know that is their plan....then I wouldn't have sold it to him, nor cut him such a good deal...I gave- yes gave him a load of spare parts for it and he sold them as well!!!
As for selling him my original bike, he can go poke it and I've told him as much...
Can you imagine selling a perfectly serviceable bus with all the right bits on it to someone that then cuts it up to sell as parts???

rant over............ 8O

Goose,
Know where you're coming from dude. The bloke is a tosser and I'm sure he'll get what he deserves somewhere along the line. As a plus, you can slag him off on vzi as they don't generally worry about such things.....they're always kicking somebodys head in!!!!
I sold an OG survivor raleigh Styler with og paint and decals etc. and had a feeling that the bloke was gonna break it up so asked him outright. He said he wasn't and that he wasn't going to restore it either as it was in such OG condition and he kept his work so there are some honest straight up dudes out there.
On another note, what's the going rate these days for a mini burner in rideable/fair condition (pm me if you like, just curious that's all).

Shalom, Lee
