i really didn't wanna start this thread but it gets me so fired up!!!!!
i REALLY cannot see the point in it.
a friend off here suggested i sign up a few years ago.what a mistake. now i can't remove it as i cant remember the email details i registered .ever tried to contact 'em to remove it????
janet street porter sums it all up perfectly here...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1138445/Janet-Street-Porter-Why-I-hate-Facebook.html
i wandered onto my wifes page a coupla times to "speak" to my nephew who was touring australia. an email would have sufficed. recently,we received an email from the kids school about 'cyber bullying'.(not our kids, just a message to everyone telling their stance on it).
it's just wrong.
:usa2: :stop:

If you cannot remember you login details go through the forgot password routine. There are ways to gain access without the need for your og log in details. i.e security questions, your friends etc etc etc.... It's how all the Fb accounts get hacked

You would have gotten a bigger response if you had Tweeted your dissatisfaction

never forget facebook turned into the no.1 sales channel for brands - the traditional targeting methods are nowhere near as efficient than behavioral targeting, etc - lots of people live their life online (and share personal data they don't even know they are sharing) and become instinct buyers as alwys the right product, brand, etc pos up in fron of their eyes. i do advertising (digital, innovative, social, new media for 10 years now - almost from the beginning) from a sales perspective its fabulous. if you run a business you are a fool if you are not present in social media in some way be it facebook, blogs, twitter, youtube, linkedin, etc - for the simple reason - boost of sales.

make no mistake i understand your grunt about its effect on real life - but unfortunately our youth grows up like this (i myself have 2 kids my 2 year old knows how to use the star wars jedi sword app on my iphone - but am also proud he can ignite my beetle too :)) some people ask when is it going to run down and pop like a ballon - well i have to say from experience its a non reversable process - this will not pop - for our kids its going to be natural - and for us, well, just going to get worse :)
