The Split Screen Seedlings was formed in 1997 at the AGM at Billing Aquadrome. It began as the Children's Split Screen Van Club, designed to make sure that the children within the club always had something exciting to do.
It started with a small database of names and birthdates and there are now over 500 children in the Seedlings. The Seedlings all get a birthday card, a Bi-monthly double-sided A4 page packed full of games, puzzles, recipies, jokes, ideas, and info. Then there is the main role of the Seedlings, entertainment at events. At events games and races are organised for all the children to take part in (and the adults).
In the past we have organised remote control car racing, have made a large cardbord van for a competition at BVF, made a Chinese dragon, made chocolate crispie cakes that were quickly eaten at the coffee morning etc etc.
Recently at Victoria Farm the children all received a T Shirt with the Seedlings logo on it and were able to add a design of their own or just colour in the logo. We also had face painting, a bouncy castle and races. The day was finished off with a wide game on the field (in the dark!).
